Princess of Wales will carry out first overseas trip since cancer diagnosis: Catherine will make solo visit to Italy as she steps up return to full-time duties
The Princess of Wales will make her return to international duties next week, as the future queen makes her first official overseas visit since announcing her cancer diagnosis nearly three-and-a-half years ago.
Kensington Palace has announced that Catherine will travel to Italy on a solo working trip, continuing her ‘life’s work’ with The Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood. The outing marks a major milestone in the Princess of Wales’ recovery, which has seen her slowly build up her calendar over the past year.
According to Palace aides, Catherine is ‘very much looking forward’ to returning to international travel. The visit, they say, is an important development in her planned expansion of the Centre for Early Childhood’s work.
