On Tuesday, June 2, The Princess of Wales

had a lovely reception at St. James’s Palace in London to mark the 125th anniversary of Cancer Research UK, which is the world’s biggest independent cancer research group. Catherine, the Princess of Wales, was there with King Charles III and Queen Camilla, and they all enjoyed seeing how much the charity has done and celebrating the amazing work of its researchers, doctors, and volunteers.

It was a special moment when the Princess of Wales and King Charles joined forces to support a cause close to their hearts. Just weeks apart in 2024, they both received diagnoses of cancer.

Before that, the King had been a long-time supporter of cancer research charities. After his diagnosis, he became the main supporter of Cancer Research UK. He’s still receiving treatment for an unknown type of cancer. The Princess shared in 2025 that she was in remission from cancer, having finished her preventative chemotherapy treatment in the fall of 2024.

For Tuesday’s special day, Catherine chose a color and pattern she absolutely loves: red and polka dots! But guess what? The look was actually designed by the super-famous Rodarte brand. This Pasadena-based label, run by the talented Californian sisters Kate and Laura Mulleavy, is famous for its romantic designs and fascinating art history inspirations.

Even though the designer was a bit of a surprise, the styling was spot-on! The princess looked absolutely stunning in a printed silk twill midi dress, a Miu Miu purse, and her favorite red Gianvito Rossi pumps. She completed the look with a ruby pendant necklace and matching diamond earrings.

Catherine has been a consistent supporter of cancer survivors and research in recent years. In December 2025, she left a heartfelt note at an art installation that honored those who had passed away from the disease. When she shared her diagnosis, she said, “Right now, I’m also thinking of all those whose lives have been touched by cancer. To everyone facing this disease, in any way, please don’t lose faith or hope. You’re not alone.”
