Many of us recall receiving gifts from Avon at some point in our lives. Princess Diana also received an Avon gift, a pair of gold dome earrings, which she frequently wore in public. These earrings were a gift from her mother, and she often paired them with suits during her official royal visits. Renae Plant, the director of the Princess Diana Museum, discussed these earrings in a TikTok video, providing background information as they prepare for their museum display. She stated, “These Avon gold button earrings were gifted by Diana’s mother, Frances Shand Kydd. Diana donated these earrings, along with nine other intimate jewelry pieces, to a charity to support a hospital in Middlesex on the day she departed for a cruise in the Mediterranean on August 16, 1997.” The original earrings are now housed at the Princess Diana Museum. I recently discovered numerous magazine covers featuring Diana wearing these earrings in my personal clipping collection. Additionally, I found several pairs on eBay under the listing “vintage Avon earrings.” So, you can own a pair of Diana’s earrings yourself.
